Halter Necklines are Back!
No.1 on this seasons trendiest list is the ever flattering halter. A style that is both sexy and versatile. Halter necklines are suitable for both casual beach weddings as well as formal church ceremonies. In addition to halter neck dresses, the deep v and spagetti strap dresses are more prevelant than the ever timeless strapless drss.
Texture! Texture! Texture!
Whether working with smooth satin or intricate lace, bridal designers were all about texture this season. The trendiest gowns combined three-dimensional appliques or softly sculptural flowers and leaves with smooth satins and intricate lace. Skirts with tiny pleats and gathers are another unusual way in which texture was very prevalent.
Light & Airy
Many of the 2006 designer wedding dresses appeared to be almost weightless. Soft flowing fabrics that create the look and feel of floating on air.
This years runways were filled with designer wedding gowns, and the No.1 color is pink! Color continues to be the dominate trend for bridal gown designers. Many shades of greens, blues were being used, but most designers seemed to be thinking pink. Only the palest shades - from ballet pink to dusty rose - the soft feminine shade added interest to many of this seasons wedding dresses.
From rich layers producing a wedding cake effect to softly wrapped bodices, layers are dominating the wedding dress designers this season.
